In 2008
NUH, Department of Cardiology conducted the first Singapore-Asia Cardiac Resynchronisation therapy (CRT) implant course, which hosted doctors from South Korea and Philippines.
The Asia Pacific Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) training workshop was conducted twice at NUH to highlight the current practice in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of VTE in the Asia Pacific region.
Two endovascular aortic stenting workshops were conducted at NUH with delegates from Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Korea.
Conducted a workshop on Chest Tube and Central Line Insertion on 12 January 2008, at the Skills Training And Research (STAR) Laboratory.
Organised the 16th Annual Meeting of the Asian Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (ASCVS) 2008 at Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore from 13-16 March 2008 under the chairmanship of Professor Lee Chuen Neng
In 2007
Organised the 3rd simulator course- introduction to interventional cardiology with hands on training on vascular models and virtual-reality simulator in November 2007.
Transmitted 2 live cases from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia during the 3rd Asian Interventional Cardiovascular Therapeutics (AICT) Meeting which took place from 11-14 July 2007.
Jointly organized Echo Singapore 2007 with National Heart Centre, Singapore, from 16-18 August 2007 at Clinical Research centre, NUS.
Jointly organized the inaugural Singapore Venous Forum with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, held from 20-22 September 2007 at Clinical Research centre, NUS.
In 2006
The Siemens-NUH simulator course in interventional cardiology was helf on the 3rd and 4th of June and was attended by 15 delegates from around the Asia-Pacific region. The course featured realistic compter-simulated training where virtual patients were linked to actual interventional devices used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
122 participants and 44 vendors from 15 companies were part of The Next Technology seminar and workshop covered topics including the latest axial flow and centrifugal heart pumps for adults and paediatric patients, percutaneous heart valves under development, robotic heart surgery and its promises and more.
