Cardiovascular Imaging Core Lab & Pre-admission Counseling

Financial Counseling is provided by our friendly staff at the Pre-admission Counselling Centre. With the increase to three counters, we are now able to cater to our cardiac patients promptly and help them understand the financial components of their procedures or surgeries. Sharing the space is our Cardiovascular Imaging Core Unit which serves as our Echo Assessment Unit.

Cardiac Clinic & Clinic H

 

 

The Cardiac Clinic and Clinic H (Cardiac Specialist Clinic) are one-stop clinics where we provide consultations and various investigations of heart conditions. The Cardiac Clinic is equipped with a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities to allow for comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of our patients. Within the Cardiac Clinic are 3 service centres – Non-invasive Laboratory, ECG Services and Consultation Suites.

Angiography Centre

  

The Angiography Centre comprises of 3 advanced cardiac laboratories which are capable of performing diagnostic and coronary, peripheral, valvuloplasty and congenital interventional procedures by a team of dedicated expert cardiologists, specialty trained nurses, medical and radiology technologists.  As a major tertiary healthcare institution, the Angiography Centre specialises in complex minimally invasive cardiac procedures, which have become viable alternatives to open heart surgeries for its patients.

Non-invasive Cardiac Laboratory

The Non-invasive Cardiac Laboratory is staffed with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, nurses, medical technologists and technicians.

 

Non-invasive procedures performed in our laboratory include :

  • Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE)
  • Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
  • Stress Echocardiography
  • Treadmill Exercise Stress Electrocardiography Test
  • Cardiopumonary Exercise Testing
  • Tilt Table Test
  • 24 hour Ambulatory Electrocardiogram (ECG) Monitoring
  • Ambulatory Blood pressure Monitoring
  • Electrocardiogram
  • Transtelephonic ECG
  • Pacemaker Programming and Check
  • Vascular Echo-doppler Study

 

Our Vascular Laboratory is housed within the Non-invasive Cardiac Laboratory, which provides vascular assessments:

  • Colour Duplex Scans
  • Arterial occlusion
  • AV malformation/vascular tumour
  • AV fistula/graft
  • Vascular graft surveillance
  • Vein mapping
  • Venous insufficiency/varicose vein
  • Deep vein thrombosis

Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory

The Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory performs non-invasive heart studies, using radioactive material, to examine the blood flow to the heart muscle and the function of the heart.

 

Procedures performed in the Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory include :

  • Exercise Stress Myocardial Perfusion Imaging Test
  • Vasodilator Stress Myocardial Perfusion Imaging Test

Ward 20, Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit

The Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit consists of 11 acute ICU beds as well as four high dependency beds. Two of the 11 ICU beds are equipped with the capability of switching to negative pressure rooms with special anterooms for isolation cases as well as one room which can be converted to a positive pressure room that will enable the unit to support post heart transplantation patients.

It is also equipped with state of the art equipment and patient monitoring system and is the first ICU in Singapore to use the "Infusion Transfer Device" technology. This equipment will enable smooth transfer of critically ill patients with multiple infusions to different departments.

Ward 23, Coronary Care Unit

The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is a 12-bedded unit with the latest state-of-the-art technology and equipment. There are 6 acute beds and 6 High Dependency (HD) beds focusing on the management of patients with cardiac illnesses. These include Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), Non-ST Elevated Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI), cardiogenic shock requiring mechanical ventilation and/or intra-aortic balloon pump support, congestive cardiac failure, acute pulmonary oedema (APO), cardiac arrhythmias requiring electrical or chemical cardioversion, pericardial effusion for pericardiocentesis and cardiac tamponade.

Ward 23, Cardiac Monitoring Unit

 

 

 

The six-bedded Cardiac Monitoring Unit focuses on giving dedicated attention to post-elective Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) patients. Patients will recuperate in CMU for a night before discharging the next day feeling "recharged".

Ward 56, Cardiothoracic Ward & Ward 63, Cardiology Ward

 

Ward 56 is a 17-bedded CTVS ward. Ward 63 had been planned to undertake Cardiology-related patients and currently has got 43 beds. Dedicated patient care and management is achieved through such distinction between these 2 wards.
