The National University Health System (NUHS) set up the National University Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS) to meet the growing need of providing care to the increasing number of people suffering from heart disease.
We bring together cardiac specialists from various medical and surgical disciplines to provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to the treatment of heart problems.
Besides patient care, our experienced physicians and surgeons also train and nurture the next generation of healthcare providers, passing on their knowledge and skills. Patient care is backed by leading edge research by our research arm, the Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI). The aim is to advance our cardiovascular care and treatment.
To fulfil our mission in patient care, research and education, most of our clinicians take on multiple roles – as doctors and surgeons, as researchers, and as teachers in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS). This has enabled us to keep abreast of the latest medical developments and advances, to bring new treatments and cures to our patients.
