Biosketch

Raised in the United Kingdom, Dr David Bleetman graduated in Medicine from the University of Oxford and University College London. He completed specialist cardiothoracic surgical training in the London Deanery, with appointments at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, King’s College Hospital, and the Royal Brompton Hospital. In 2021, he was awarded the McCormack Medal as the highest-performing candidate in the FRCS examination, as well as the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS) Thoracic Medal for his academic work. He subsequently undertook an international fellowship as the Eleanor Peel Travelling Fellow at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. His clinical interests include aortic surgery, with an academic focus on translational research.
