Dr. Ryan Leow obtained his undergraduate medical degree from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, having placed on the Dean's List for all five years of the course and having placed first in the final undergraduate examinations with firsts in both Medicine and Surgery. He was awarded seven University academic awards, was conferred his undergraduate medical degree with Honours, and was the Valedictorian of his graduating class.
Dr. Leow undertook Internal Medicine training and then Cardiology specialisation with the National University Health System. He presently practices at the National University Hospital and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, with clinical interests in cardiac critical care as well as echocardiography.
His research interests lie in valvular heart diseases as well as echocardiography with multiple publications in these fields. He frequently presents his work in local and international conferences, where his presentations have won research awards including two Young Investigator Awards.
Dr. Leow's other interests include medical education and he teaches under the clinical faculty scheme with NUS. He actively tutors undergraduates and is a sought-after tutor for junior medical residents preparing for post-graduate examinations. He has received awards from NUS and the NUHS recognising these educational contributions.
