Opening of the new NUHCS Angiography Centre and Diagnostic Cardiac Laboratory @ L1
PULSE Issue 47 | July 2026

When it comes to heart health, timely diagnosis can make all the difference. At the National University Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS), ongoing upgrades are helping patients receive faster, more seamless cardiovascular care – from their first diagnostic test, to treatment and recovery.
The newly expanded NUHCS Diagnostic Cardiac Laboratory @ L1 is designed with both efficiency and comfort in mind. With a larger waiting area, additional rooms, and increased diagnostic testing capacity, the facility is able to accommodate more patients each day and reduce waiting times for key cardiac investigations.
This means patients can undergo diagnostic tests such as echocardiography, exercise stress tests and cardiac imaging tests, more promptly. Earlier access to these diagnostic tests can support earlier detection of heart conditions, which are critical in ensuring timely treatment and better recovery.
The NUHCS Angiography Centre, where specialised procedures are performed to diagnose and treat a range of complex cardiovascular conditions including blocked arteries and heart rhythm disorders, has recently undergone a major renovation aimed at improving both patient experience and access to care.
The refreshed centre features upgraded imaging technology, increased recovery area capacity with a more comfortable and reassuring environment for patients before, during and after their procedures. These improvements allow clinical teams to manage both emergency cases, such as heart attacks and cardiac arrests, and elective cases1 more efficiently, helping patients receive timely treatment when every minute counts. For patients and their families, this means shorter waiting time to receive care, and improved comfort during recovery.
These facility enhancements are among many to come, reflecting NUHCS’ ongoing commitment to delivering the highest standard of patient care on the journey to better heart health.
