NUHCS Party 2026

Celebrating the Community Behind the Care

PULSE Issue 47 | July 2026

At the National University Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS), the commitment to deliver excellent cardiovascular care is a shared mission that brings people together every day. Beyond the demands of clinical work, there is also a shared understanding that sustaining this work requires time to connect, recharge, and celebrate one another. This spirit came alive at the NUHCS Party 2026, an annual gathering that reflects not just a tradition, but a culture where teams who give their best for patients also make time to connect and simply enjoy being together.

Held on 7 March, the event brought colleagues from across departments together in a rare moment away from their usual routines, whether in clinics, wards, operating theatres, or offices. This year’s theme, “Dress In Your Own Generation,” added a playful dimension to the celebration. From retro looks to iconic characters, staff embraced the opportunity to express themselves in creative and unexpected ways.

In his opening address, A/Prof James Yip, Executive Director of NUHCS, expressed appreciation for the dedication and resilience demonstrated by staff throughout the year. His message reinforced that clinical excellence at NUHCS is made possible by the people behind it, whose skill and commitment make all the difference in the patient care.

Bringing colleagues from different parts of NUHCS into the same space, the evening offered a chance to reconnect beyond the pace of daily work. Conversations flowed more easily, familiar faces met outside their usual settings, and new connections were formed. These moments, while simple, are what strengthen the sense of teamwork and trust that continues back in the workplace.

As the organisation moves forward, the importance of coming together remains unchanged. At the heart of NUHCS is not just the care provided, but the people who make it possible, supporting one another, growing together, and finding moments of joy along the way.
